Macrotone Blogs
Updated Website
After many changes we welcome you to our new website. This has been a major update, since we have not only changed the version of Joomla used along with its tempate, but also the version of PHP and the version of the underlying database. The articles of the site were transferred from our original site and updated to reflect changes that have occurred throughout the years.
Some features are no longer present, including the Forum, newsletters and registered users. Support for our extentions will be provided via email. [Note that we receive a lot of SPAM to the support email address so some delays may be encountered, and there is always the possibilty that requests may be automatically flagged as SPAM.]
We have tended to go for a simpler template layout, deciding this time that we would stay with a configuration of the basic release Joomal site template rather than a Bootstrap specific version which itself would require modifications as Bootstrap itself changes version.
The last part of the update process was to change the redirection of the main macrotoneconsulting.co.uk to the new Joomla 5 directory. This involved changing the Akeeba Admin tools WAF setting to accept the domain name without the subdirectory name. This has to be performed by the administrator of the domain name and one has to go to the site's backend, Components, Admin Tools, Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF, Allowed Domains and add the domain name to the list, then click on Save to update the site's settings. The other part of the puzzle was to update the PHP settings for the redirected domains.
Also needed to update JED entries to ensure links still work for our components. Changed to https from http address links at the same time.
Outstanding.
The following known actions are outstanding at the time of post.
1. We formally used a component known as CTransifex by Compojoom, which would enable an easy download of translations from Transifex. Unfortunately the latest release is 1.5 dated 2014 and only runs of Joomla 3.. No later version are currently known to exist and the component is no longer supported. An alternative is not known.
2. The documentaion link alias is missing a second t despite the alias being correct. Hmm. Fixed this one. We are using a SEF product and it contained the old alias not the corrected one. Once we had purged the items and refreshed all is fine. Now tp correct the JED links again.
