Hi,
First of all, thank you very much for the five star joomla extension.

For some reason, I have not been able display issue assigned people in the front end. All other data fields show up correctly in FE. Assigned persons are OK in the back end.

I have Joomla 2.5.9 and Issue Tracker 1.3.1 installed.

Assigned people are not by default shown in the front end for security reasons. Not everyone wants details of all their staff made visible.

Having said that it is a configuration option. Look for 'show staff detail' in the menu options, and/or (depending upon whether you want them on for all issues, or just selected ones) in the component frontend options and toggle them on.

I have tried already configuration options and enabled "show staff detail" both in Fe options and menu options.... No change!

Further... have reinstalled the extension and started from clean data ... tried also demo data but no success.

I will look into it and update when/if I find out the cause.

I cannot replicate this problem. The frontend component options provide some defaults but these will be overridden by the specific menu options.

In the menu item there is a option to display the staff assignment.

In the case of the issues list, where you then link through to the specific issue itself, there are two places where the option can be set. The first relates to the display in the 'issue list', where an extra column will be present named (default) 'assigned to'. To display the field in the linked childen then the 'show staff details' also has to be set in the 'Child Link Display Options' on the menu item. In this case the assigned person occurs in the 'Issue Progress' box.

Can you please confirm whether you see the problem in the 'Issues List' or the specific 'Issue itself', or both?

If you have a page cache in use on your system then remember to flush the cache after setting the menu options otherwise the earlier/cached page is displayed.

If there is a problem it is unlikely to be an install type issue or the specific data related, assuming of course that a person is assigned to the issue. By default the sample data doesn't have anybody assigned.

Hi Geoff and thanks for your immediate attention,
Assigned to - field is empty in both list view and specific issue view.
I don't have the page cache in use.

Piece of additional info, in both views, header test "assigned to" appears but data under/ beside the header is missing

I am a little confused now. If the headings appear in the front end any data they contain should also appear because it is the basically the same test statement.

This seems to imply (to me) that there is no person assigned to the issues. They need to be assigned in the back end. To be eligible to be assigned a person has to have been identified as a staff member in the people back end table/view. There is also an option to assign a default staff member in the component option if one is not specifically assigned when an issue is created. Sample data is different since it is created by a back door and by default will not have a person assigned and hence would have the asigned fiedl shown as blank.

Can you confirm that a person is assigned to the issues (in the back end) you see in the front end? If not assign one and refresh the front end screen.

If they are still not shown, can you view the data in the #__it_issues table for the issues where you have the problem?

Geoff
