Changes in Joomla 2.5.6 and above, mean that the created Super User (admin) is no longer a fixed id value. This means that there is likely to be a conflict with the identifiers used by the sample data (specifically people data).

The problem was discovered during QA for the forthcoming 1.20 release for which we have a fix, but we are reviewing the possible removal of the sample data in release 1.3 and above.

Release 1.2.0 will contain the sample data (slightly modified). Checks in the installation scripts will check for the existance of conflicting ids and raise a message if a conflict exists. If the super user is the only account in our required range the fix will modify the sample data.

Note that this will only impact new installations of Joomla using release 2.5.6 and above. Existing installations even if upgraded to Joomal 2.5.6 or above will not experience this problem since the Super User account will have been created with the earlier version of Joomla that did not exhibit this feature.

This should not impact the provision of sample data for issue types, priorities, status and email templates which while strictly speaking are sample data, are differentiated from the issue, projects and people data, since they are effectively component 'parameters'.

See the documentation for more specific details.

Geoff

On this page 1.2.0 docs you will find the link (as a PDF) to the 1.2.0 docs.

We are in the final QA steps currently and baring undiscovered errors will release shortly.
