User Account Activation

We have observed a situation over the past two days where a user (more than one in fact) has registered for an account upon our site, and Joomla has duly sent an activation message to the user requesting them to 'activate the account'. This ensures that the user requesting the account is the person receiving the email activation message.

So far so good. Unfortunately the person creating the account never receives the activation message. The reason is that the mail server that the person is using 'thinks' that the activation message is spam and hence blocks the email. The user is often unaware that the email has been blocked by their system and hence the account is never activated. The user in this situation then assumes that it is our site that is at fault.

There is no easy way for us to resolve this situation until the user has configured their mail server to accept the activation email s not 'spam'. It would then be possible for us to 're-send' the activation email, and thus the user upon the receipt of the message, could then activate their account.

If you are in this situation please let us know and we will resend the activation message, enabling you to activate your account upon our site.
