Joomla 2.5 RC1 Experiences

Unfortunately we are still seeing problems with the 'Advanced Search/Finder' component.  If we define a menu option then we can get the advanced search displayed, but if the menu item does not exist the module does not generate a result.  So it seems like the use of the finder module is deficient.  Since this is disabled by default, we can not see that we will be enabling it immediately on our live site.  One problem that we did discover was that when we were seeing 'funny' search results with each 'letter' of the result separated with a space is most likely related to so form of interaction with the 'simple search' component.

One problem that we are pleased to see fixed is the errors generated if the 'simple' search is initiated with out any arguments.  We only discovered this Joomla 1.7.3 'feature' during our testing, which just goes to prove that we rarely initiate empty searches.  Must add it to our usual test check list.

All our extensions, whether released or in development, seem to be working without any required modifications.  We have also not encountered any unexpected problems with normal running.
