See image. We tend to use it on the 'User menu' so that the menu item is only shown to logged in users.

I have the same problem. The option you mention only seems to be available for the menu items. How do you make it so that the module only shows tickets for the logged in user? As far as I can tell, the module is the only place you can go to edit tickets.

Edit: Looks like I figured it out. It seems you only have to enable child links under list all issues.

Glad you figured it out.

Basically when one enables the 'child links' menu option for the list displays (and module), it is possible to click on the links to display the underlying issue (or project/person depending upon the menu choice). Whether one can actually edit the item will depend upon the user performing the 'viewing', and their access permissions etc.
