Hi geoffc..

Thank you for the respond.. but i cant seems to find this php file..

C:\xampp\apps\joomla\htdocs\components\com_issuetracker\helpers

it only have helper.php
icon.php
index.html and route.php

Seems we have two different problems mixed in one post topic.

The identified by problem is resolved in this forum post .

However this is not the problem with the save failing. I am expecting to see a SQL error reported probably along the lines of 'Foreign key does not exist.'.

With out a specific error it is difficult to pin down, but I suspect that one of the 'required' issue fields, such as assigned project, or identified by is not published, and hence is not populated and thus causes the save to fail. It might be a 'required' custom field failing but usually in this case the save would keep you on the same page with a message at the top telling you which fields are missing. I do not think it is your custom fields on the currrent information.

I am currently running Joomla on my Linux PC, so I have access to Apache logs.
My file for logs is /var/log/apache2/error.log

If you are running Joomla remotely on a hosting service I don't know how to help you.

By the way, I've just discovered that the helper dates.php is missing in my installation, so for me it's obvious that is fails. I have to find why.

To configure the issue tracker log there is a single component option to turn it on or off.

The dates file is in the admin area. i.e. administrator/components/com-issuetracker/helpers directory. It is not created in the front end, and is called in the front end from the back end location when used.
