Hi, I am new to Issue Tracker and I just finished installing it to our Intranet.

Wanted to know if it is possible to have a custom field trigger event and the method to go about it?

Can I have a field say: Support Type (Hardware/Software)
If I choose Hardware, a custom field with the list of hardware will appear
And if I choose Software, a custom field with the list of software app will appear.

Then I continue to enter my Location Field (HQ/Site Office)
If I select HQ, a custom field with the list of Department will appear.

Is it possible?

At this momment this is not possible and certainly hasn't been considered in the custom field design. It certainly a reasonable request and I will think about how difficult this might be to implement and consider it for a later version.
