Unfortunately we have not yet implemented custom fields into the component. It is one of the things on the todo list. I am not sure when it will be implemented (possibly release 1.5 or 1.6 which is late 2013 or early 2014 all being well).

These fields are not true table fields. They are entry fields for the 'new' issue which are then placed in the issue 'progress' field. There are no specific type checks on the data entered into the fields.

You may possibly be able to make use of these fields for your own purposes by using a language override for the fields and a form template override for the form by changing the form edit_product_details.php template.

The entries would then still be placed in the progress field.

Each 'field' has a DESC, LABEL and MESSAGE text [xxxxx in the strings below].

The fields are named:
COM_ISSUETRACKER_FIELD_JOOMLA_VERSION_xxxxxx
COM_ISSUETRACKER_FIELD_PRODUCT_VERSION_xxxxx
COM_ISSUETRACKER_FIELD_PHP_VERSION_xxxxx
COM_ISSUETRACKER_FIELD_DB_TYPE_xxxxx

This is not something we have specifically tried but something I believe should work.

If you do try this, please let us know how it goes.

Have looked at the front end model and the above should work. Only additional change (which will be in release 1.3.3) would be to use the overriden strings in the progress field for the modified fields. (About 5 lines changed.)
