Joomla Extensions

Macrotone Consulting creates Joomla extensions to meet business needs.  These are generally available for public download and usage.  Unless specified otherwise these extensions are released without any form of warranty.  It is the responsibility of the user to ensure they meet the required need.

IP Mapping

This component plots the reported position of IP addresses upon Google maps. It comprises a full administration component and a couple of front end modules. Multiple map displays are possible. IP address may be obtained in a number of ways.

  1. Manual entry in the administration component
  2. Synchronisation with the Web Application Firewall log of Akeeba Admin Tools Pro
  3. Site visitor information collected via a configurable module.

Issue Tracker

The Macrotone Consulting Issue Tracker component is an example of what is often described as a trouble ticket system; a support ticket or incident ticket system; or a Helpdesk system.  Issue tracking systems are commonly used in an organization's Customer Support / Call Centre to create, update, and resolve reported customer issues, or even issues reported by that organization's other employees.

An issue tracking system is similar to a "bug tracker", and often, a software company will sell both, and some bug trackers are capable of being used as an issue tracking system, and vice versa. Consistent use of an issue or Bug Tracking System is considered one of the "hallmarks of a good software team".

Password Control

As release Joomla only provides some rudimentary control of user's passwords.  The basic Joomla authentication of the user's password is whether the two entries match.  If they match the user can continue.  Password Control tries to add some additional controls to improve site security.

Miscellaneous

The sh404sef installable plugin for Codingfish Discussions component 1.5 was built for our own usage and has been made available to the wider Joomla community.

Clean Lines Template

This template developed for our own usage is build specifically for Joomla 2.5.  Build on the Beez 5 template it is available with five colour options and a fixed or fluid width. It is available in the download area.

    Hi, I want to download userpasswordcontrol_0_0_1.zip but it is impossible, the message is: Error while downloading file File not found on server.... any solutions?

    Sorry about that, for some obscure reason the file has been deleted. I have restored it and it should now be OK for you to download.

  • Hi,
    I've installed the component on my Joomla 1.5.8. When I add a news menu and I select "Single Issue", the system print this error: "Unknown column 'published' in 'where clause' SQL=SELECT id AS id, issue_summary AS title FROM cnd_it_issues WHERE published=1"

    Why? And how can do to display, user by user, their issue?

    Issue Tracker is a Joomla 2.5 component. It will (and has) run on Joomla 1.7 as well, although it is not supported on that version.
    Joomla 1.5 is out of support 1.5.8 is extremely old. Issue Tracker will not be back ported to that version of Joomla which is unsupported. It is strongly suggested that you upgrade your Joomla version to a supported version at your earliest opportunity.

    That said the unknown column 'published' is certainly true since the column name is 'state'. I think the fix should have been in the last version 1.2.2 of Issue Tracker. That particular problem was resolved a long while ago. [The change is in the site/component/com_issuetracker/views/itissues/tmpl/default.xml file if you cannot upgrade your site for some reason.]
