"public" - create ticket / assign user

we've decided to allow "public" users (intranet site) to create tickets, although they can select the project, the assigned user is not available.

how can we either:

1) make this available. or preferably
2) assign this to the project's "lead" user

Generally the assigned field is not shown (or enterable) by anyone other than admin/staff users. This is mainly since a general user would not know who to assign an issue to anyway. On an intranet this is less likely than on the internet of course. :)

So that an issue has a better chance of going to the correct assignee, each project in the back end has a specific field where a 'default' assignee can be specified. If this is left blank then the component default 'assignee' is used instead.

It sounds like it is the 'project assignee' field that you would want to populate.

It would be a relatively easy change to make the assigned to field visible on the form, using a new parameter setting, but if is not something that is currently possible. Let me know if the current project assignee is not preferable.
